We are so delighted to be able to offer 2 opportunities to our young members to join the Jubilee Sailing Trust tall ships training programme this summer and autumn.
The first is an incredible opportunity to sail aboard the world’s largest operating wooden ship, SV Tenacious, for an epic adventure in the English Channel. You’ll be working with 40 crew mates to set the sails, helm the ship, climb the mast and much more.
JST have teamed up with SkillForce for this challenge – a national charity who has helped thousands of young people to enhance their life skills and realise their true potential. The cost of this trip is £150 (usually £895) but Reach members will need to pay for their own travel to and from Portsmouth and travel insurance.
The 6-day voyage will start and finish by the iconic Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays marina. From here on, we sail wherever the wind takes us – which could be to the Channel Islands or France.
You’ll get plenty of opportunities to learn how to sail, and working as part of a diverse mixed-ability crew will develop key leadership and teamwork skills. You’re bound to form some awesome friendships too and have a lot of fun whilst living on the ship.
Your skills will be put to the test, as this voyage offers the unique opportunity to work with the SkillForce leadership mentors, who are all military veterans. It’s an unbeatable chance to hone and develop your own personal leadership abilities.
The adventure is open to 18-25-year-olds and you can book now.
