Our wonderfully talented Reach musicians received the recognition they so deeply deserved by being announced as the winner in the category, Excellence in SEND, at The Music & Drama Education Awards 2021!
These Awards celebrate the extraordinary contribution made by professionals, companies, charities, schools and other organisations to the lives of others through the medium of two key performing arts. We are super, super proud of the Reach oRchestRa, that their talent and collaboration shone out to the judges, and was recognised.
The Reach oRchestRa is a collaboration of musicians with upper limb differences, or with a connection to the charity, that have played together several times throughout 2020 virtually online showcasing their talents. This is a tremendous achievement for all involved following a very difficult year, huge congratulations to all.
The Music & Drama Education Awards 2021 were announced in an online ceremony hosted by Alexander Armstrong on the 24th March 2021. The two sectors which these awards celebrate – performing arts and education –have arguably faced their most challenging year ever in 2020. The judges were blown away by how the people who make up the performing arts education world have continued undaunted to produce exceptional work and to support innumerable students of all ages. Sponsored by Classic FM, the ISM, the MU and the MTA, the awards also recognised recognising the lifetime contribution of the much-loved flautist, teacher, writer and broadcaster Atarah Ben-Tovim.
Congratulations again to our musicians who really do prove that there are ‘No Limits!’
A special thank you goes to Clare Salters, who was pivotal in the organisation.
