Whether you’re fundraising as part of a school, club, faith group or at work, fundraising to raise donations as part of a group can be great fun and very rewarding.
Reach Charity is supported entirely by your donations so you’ll be making a lasting difference to help children with upper limb differences live life without limits, and helping us to continue to connect families across the UK and Ireland who are in similar situations.
Please remember to tell us all about your fundraising activities, we love to thank and celebrate all our fundraisers and include them in our withinReach magazine. So make sure you take plenty of photographs and email your stories to Kate at reach@reach.org.uk so we can share your successes!

Fundraise at your school
There are loads of fantastic ways your school and clubs can help raise funds for Reach. Sports events, talent shows to cake sales, below are a few activities you could do and if you have any others, we would love to hear about them!
Always talk through your ideas with your teachers or grown ups in charge first, come up with a plan, promote and advertise (you can choose from a list of items below).
- Themed mufti day
Set a date and get the whole school involved in a non-uniform day. Ask each student to donate £1 to take part. You could wear your normal clothes or even have a fancy dress day how about coming to school head to toe in orange or blue!
- School disco
Sell tickets, get those dancing shoes on and raise money for Reach in the process!
Organise for your class to have a sports afternoon, you could even sell refreshments to boost your fundraising total.
- Talent show
Showcase your talents and sell tickets to raise funds. You could even convince some teachers to put on a show. Why not hold a raffle during the event to raise even more for Reach!
- Quiz fundraiser
Get your thinking caps on and organise a quiz. Collect an entry fee from every player and see which team will be victorious!
Hold a bake sale or why not have a bake off competition? Sell your cakes to parents, teachers and other students! You could give certificates for the tastiest cake, the best decorated bake, and the most unusual flavour combination.
It’s a super tasty way to raise money!

Other ways to give through your workplace
- Work for Good scheme
Work for Good makes it easy for purpose driven, small businesses to donate to charity – legally. Donating to charity as a business can be complex due to the legal requirements. Work for Good digitally automates this process, allowing businesses to pledge donations of any size, within minutes. Click here to support Reach and donate through Work for Good.
- Payroll donations
Check if your company offers payroll donations, and set up a regular donation to Reach. It’s a great way of donating to Reach’s work and it’s tax free. Alternatively, you can set up a regular direct debit donation. Just download this Direct Debit form complete and email back, if you would prefer a word document please email Kate at reach@reach.org.uk and we will do the rest.
- Matched donations
Ask your company or business if they have a scheme in place to match the total donations that you raise.
- Currency collections
Whether it’s from business trips or summer holidays, foreign currency can accumulate. Why not set up a foreign currency collection point at work and donate the proceeds to Reach.
- Stamp collections
Why not set up a stamp collection point at work. All you, and your colleagues need to do is collect your stamps, carefully cutting out of their envelopes, leaving plenty of room (5– 10 mm) and post for free! Reach receives £20 per kilo, click here for our Stamp Appeal freepost details.
