Families whose children have an upper limb difference and people born with an upper limb difference or who acquire an upper limb difference in childhood are welcome. If you are a person who acquired an upper limb difference in adulthood there are charities there to support – this may be a good place to start the search:  https://www.limblosslimbdifference.co.uk/

By becoming a member of Reach you help us support families with children who have an upper limb difference, it also gives you access to a range of opportunities for you and your family:

  • Local Reach Community: We have a dedicated branch network across the UK and Ireland, driven by passionate volunteers. These branches offer valuable support and provide a unique opportunity for Reach families to connect.
  • Support Hub: We are here to support you. You can access information and assistance through our telephone helpline, email support, resource hub, and social media platforms.
  • Reach Activity Week (RAW): For Reach children aged 10-17, our annual RAW promises a fantastic experience filled with outdoor activities from rock climbing to abseiling, surfing and much more!
  • The 18-25 Reach Retreat & Mentorship Programme – a new project building a peer-support network for young adults
  • Annual Family Weekend: Be part of our Annual Family Weekend and Conference, featuring inspiring speakers and engaging panel discussions, all leading up to our fabulous Gala dinner!
  • Within Reach Magazine: Stay informed and inspired with our magazine, published three times a year.
  • Adapted Equipment: Explore our hire scheme for one-handed recorders and various other instruments. We also offer a ‘try before you buy’ loan scheme for useful equipment, like swim paddles and a variety of scissors and gadgets.
  • Bursary Grants: We run a small bursary grant scheme for Membership fees, Adaptations & Activities – click here to learn more.
  • Online Community: Connect with our members through our private Facebook group and WhatsApp groups. This is a safe space for you to engage with other people with who you may share experience and who may have “been there, bought the T-Shirt” and may be able to help you with their experience.
